The Ability to Joyfully Accept the Delay of God's Awaiting Promises
Are you a dreamer? Do you desire to accomplish something bigger than yourself? I am...and being a dreamer comes with big responsibilities. Dreamers can envision the impossible become possible and the unreachable become reachable. My head is always in the clouds, thinking of what could be. My dreams are so big that they scare me and I often have to remind myself that God created my heart to dream because it fuels my world with hope, creativity, imagination, and romance of what He desires to do in my lifetime.
Once you have seen the impossible happen, it is almost unimaginable to settle for your current reality. Being a dreamer is not only a blessing but it can sometimes FEEL like a curse. Dreaming almost always makes the current reality feel insufficient. There are many times in my life, where I have to check my heart. I spend so much time dreaming of the bigger picture, that I fail to look at the world around me. I have tried to train my mind to constantly live in the moment. The reality of the world around me should not have to suffer to the imagination of my mind. In fact, I believe that dreaming and being in the moment go hand-in-hand to create the highest level of living. You cannot dream and live in the moment without the principle of patience.
The world defines patience as. “the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper or irritation.” I actually think this is a horrible definition.
I believe that true, biblical, fruit of patience, is walking in the ability to joyfully accept the delay of God’s awaiting promises.
This is what He intended for man. If I am joyfully accepting the delay of God’s promises than I am not only walking in joy, but in peace, knowing that God’s omnipotence and omniscient will for my life is perfect and holy. This is the true virtue of Patience that God intended for man. This is the reason that there are multiple fruits of the spirit. Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control all flow together to create the perfect heart in us so that we can live in the perfect will of God’s plan for our lives.
Being a dreamer and a visionary is important to God and the world around us. He allows us to see supernaturally beyond our natural ability into a world of endless possibility. If you are putting limitations on yourself, remember that God is bigger than anything we could wrap our minds around. He is omnipotent, able to do anything with unlimited power. Trust in His peace and patience today. Take joy that Jesus has overcome death and is alive, waiting to move in us and through us today!
